 MONEY CHASE DETOX

Money!

There is an overall misconception that money is a mere piece of paper but that is not accurate. Hundreds of years ago, human civilization made a piece of paper to be the ruler of everything determining sensitive factors such as health, food, shelter and connections. Money has proven to be the master of where we end up in our lives due to the factor we spend a lot of hours searching, chasing and grinding for it. The chase does not look like it is doing that much of an effect, when the fact of the matter is that, it is highly toxic to our mental health. For most people this will sound like a bedtime story but critically analyzing our overall behaviours, you will realize that once or twice you have been hit by the money chase fever. In this post, I will share some of my personal experiences and how I learned to escape these anxieties and the need to pocket more money than we can possibly bag.

Let’s Landa!

SIGNS of money chase fever!

Here are some of the signs that you often see in yourself because of the money chase fever?

1. STRESSING OVER SIMPLE ISSUES(overall stress)

Now often this is good right, imagine your youngest daughter arriving from school and she comes like “daddy!, they want new pair of crayons at school!” and you answer her “I don’t have any money!!”

Oh boy oh boy! Cooldown mate, you are going to explode. Often I found myself in such situations and it just got so awkward because the people that I was shouting at did not do anything to me except they needed something from me at that time. You will find that ten seconds ago you were laughing and popping jokes with friends and all of a sudden you just lock your emotions and start thinking about where you are going to get that money to pay for your office rentals. Yes it is true responsibilities comes with a lot of thinking but snapping out of a good time with friends is not healthy, if you ever find yourself doing that to the people around you, just check the box for your first sign.

2. FEELING LEFT OUT!

This is funny how it goes, if there is a feeling that breaks us down, is the feeling of being left out, it affects us really badly because when we look at our current lives and the person we could have become if did better, our energy levels just drop dramatically and we just burn out, not only that we are so fond of comparing our lives with the ELITE and that does not even make any sense. The thing about working hard is not constantly monitoring what your neighbour just bought or what Jeff Bezos just launched. Working hard is seeing to it that wherever you may be, you and your family are happy and you are managing just fine, it is alright to compare but do not take it to the level where when you wake up, you have mood swings or just yelling when someone makes a mistake at something. Being rich does not come because you are being strict with whatever service you will be offering but sometimes all it takes is freeing your mind from all of the insecurities that come because you are lacking.

3. FEELING OF NOT DOING ENOUGH!

It is so frustrating, before I observed my behavioural change, I used to burn out a lot. Because what used to happen was, after doing so much but fewer results. It was so frustrating at that time, after burning out, I would find out that there is nothing that I have reaped out of my sweat. Now that is the feeling you do not want, if you know deep down that you have done everything that you could have done and you are satisfied just let the work rest (but the problem is when you still haven’t figured out what is really going on, you will never be satisfied) when you get that figured outlet the work rest and reap the results a little bit later, they say that on average every billionaire there is in the world waited to start reaping. The best thing about waiting is that it ignites more hunger to do more while waiting for the results that may or may not come. Working by yourself is all about self-value, the more you value yourself the more thing you will start doing and complete but if you under evaluate yourself and your work, you are a rolling train ready to sink. I used to be mad, angry, upset and the feeling of self-worthy was lost but one day I sat I thought “this ain’t right!”

4. EVER COMPLAINING!

Guys this is serious, have you observed that some people are ever complaining, I mean this is a disease!

When you feel like you are not doing enough, you feel like being left out, you start stressing over little things and then you start complaining, my goodness! Let’s just stop for a second. Alibaba’s founder and CEO JACK MA once said “do not complain, let others complain, the best resources you have right now is that you are young, let others complain because where people complain there is an opportunity” I find this quote priceless and valuable because what we are used to doing every single day is what's hindering us from being successful. Let us learn to grow some dog in us, let us get greedy and not soften up like a bowl of soup! (No offence everybody), we should get fond of finding holes when the system of the world has completely shut us out.

REMEDIES!

Here are one or two things that I did that in many ways helped me get rid of this dark cloud.

1. QUIT SOCIAL MEDIA!

Oh-oh!

Listen, guys, social media is a wonderful innovation and I would not want anyone in this world to miss it for anything. It helps us communicate with our loved ones in long distances, it keeps us abreast of whatever is going on in the world (True info and False), it entertains us (Cat videos, comedy, music clips, movie trailer, celebrity pages and groups etc.), it makes us celebrities overnight, it sparks new inspirations, and it makes gossiping pretty much normal. Those were some of the pros, let's feed you some of the cons. It is addicting, ever wondered how it happens when you go in the bathroom and find yourself scrolling Instagram on your toilet seat and you ask yourself “How did I get here?”, the fact that it has all the information that you may ever look for makes it even more deadly, not only are the richest up there but the ELITE as well. You see them in sports cars and huge mansions, playing golf with other ELITE individuals, drinking champagne just to piss it, and you will be like this is the life. Well, it is not, doing comparisons will only make you poor and miserable for the rest of your life.

2. BE HAPPY!

We all understand that happiness is the most expensive commodity on the market but it is the only thing that will influence your positivity and your overall behaviour as a person. Once you learn how to source happiness in the darkest of times. You will find your freedom, you will be liberated from the fever that has been glued to us.

Once again guys thank you so much for sticking around, it is always a pressure sharing with you all.
